MISS DAVIS'S APPEAL DISMISSED, Miss' Davis's appeal was heard on] hsc. The Couit'sat at 10 a.m., and the following witnesses gave| uvidenceGeorge Taylor, Walter! At 5.30 the Chairman read tho judgment, of the Court. Before he did so he lid to express his thanks to Mes rs Bridge and Giil for the friendly spirit with which the whole case been tarried on. They had isHsted e«h other, and there had not been a single dispute between them, they hiving produced "much light without any heat. Tho following is a copy ef the judgment, of the Court, as read by the Chairman :

'• The Court-, afiev carefully considering the evidence and the addresses of Mr. Bridge atd Mr. Gill, find that the charge of absences fiom school without leiveon several occasions as ful'y correct. It also finds that the appellant! did not do justice to the luale pupils te ichors and the cadot. The Court! dismisses the appea', with costs, to bel paid by the corporative body nouiinat-| ingMrGill. And the Ooui t asstsses the costs at the turn of .£39 9s 6J. In consideration of Miss Davids many yoa> s' service, and of her previous good character, as shown by the testimonials 'produced and the reports put ia evidence on her behalf, and by the adaiis'sions of the respondent Boird, the Court would strongly urge the respondent Board to give Miss Davis the opportunity of re-admission into their service after an interval of six months! from the date of her dismissal." —I Chronicle.
