T sale 3, B buyers, s sellers. ' There is little to comment on in the transactions of the past week, and business in the Northern Exchange has bean more or less interfered with by the Royal visit. Bank of New Zealand shares have weakened, and there are more sellers than buyers. Wahis show a tendency to harden, and there are now buyers at an advance of 5s on lowest quotati ns. They are a safe investment it present prices, and will return nouch better interest than the Savings Bank deposits. Owing to the continued wet weather, dredging is at a stand still in the large rivers, and ha's been much interfered with on the s'nailer streams. Advices now to hand indicate that bright and frosty weae v er has set in, and ns soon »s the accumulated si'o has teen cleared away, we look for generally increased returns
