Oh Monday, the 20th inst., a most pleasant evtcing was passed in Koru Schooltoom hy the settlers of the district, the occasion b«ing a farewell social given to Mr. and Mrs. Schwann and family. Misses Krutz and Gr en, assisted by Mr. D. F. Patterson, organised and ananged the whole affiir and t'-ey certainly left no stons unturned to obtain the success they secured. The room was crowded. Mr. F. Julian ac'ed as Chairman and Mr. D. F. Patterson os M.O, The refreshments were of the best and reflee'ed great credit on the caterer, Mr. May, of New Plymouth. The musio w-s supplied by Miss and Messrs F. Julian, 1). F, Patterson, W. Meredith, H. Schwann and 0. Krutz, Tue pro gramms conshted cf dancing, interspersed with songs.
