On Wednesday evening there was a good attendance of the Executive of St. John Ambulance Association at a meeting hold in the effi o of Mr. tt. 0. Hughes, who, on the motion of Mr. Dempsey, was elected Chairman, A letter was rmd from the Wellington centre relative to the presentation of kq addrehs to the Duke nf Cornwall and Yoik, tho Grand Prior of the O/der, on hii forthcoming visit to the colony. A copy of a cummu»ication from the Governor was also rrad, in which it was stuttd that His Excellency considered it better for the whole of the ceutres to join in an united address. The Executive approved of the p oposil, aud the address will therefore be signed by rep-e»etitatives of the New Plymouth o«ntre. The. proposed addrops heartily welcomes His Royal Highness to this distant part of the British Empire, and while deploring the mournful event which led to it, congratulates him on his e'evatfon to tbe h«ad of an Order of such antiquity whose members are carrying out the aim 4 of the founders by d»voting themselves to the relief of the sick and suffering. It was decided to open the season ' with a Social on or about July 4th. Sovsral other matters of interest were discussed before the meeting adjourned.
