A GUNPOWDER INCIDENT.
MR PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, May 20. A sensational incident is reported from Whitfo'd, John Ernest Sutcliffe was lifting a four pound packet of blis'ing powder when some fell on a cindle. He at once threw the parcel from hitc. A terrific explosion occurred, some woodwork in the reom being wrench ad and broken. The young man's clothes were set on fire, his hair singed and arms scorched ; but his condition is not considered danger-1 oua.
