An increas* of the wardsman's salary was reoommended ; als<->, thit the Board should carry out its resolution vith regard to the appointment of Miss Furlong, who had now acted as matron for twelve month?, and should rective an increase of salary, making it the sitae as that received by her predecessor. The Government had granted a gum 0 f £SO to a mna named Mannix, who lost his leg while in the Government employ, The report was adopted.
On the motion of Mr. Sutton, seconded by Mr. Wilkinson, it was resolved to laiso the warJe man's salary to j£GO per annum.
The Bauk of New South Wales wro'e re a dishonoured p.n. given by a man named Gooding to the Board. The Chairman exp'ained the circumstance of the cas4, which was an unfortunate ooe, and moved that the p.p. be returned, and that Gooding ba not pressed for payment of his account.— Mr. Sutton seconded, and the motion was carried, an amandm*nt moved by Mr. Mackay, that the matter be deferi ed, being lost on division. Miss Louisa Mincbin, Ingle woo 3, wrote applying for a position as a probat'oner.
The Cbaii man said there was a great shortness of nurses and probationers. Mr, Mackay thought it weuli be aa «e'l, in future, if applicants were to forward medical certificates at the sime time tbat they tent in their names. The Chairman said he believed that s me of those whose names were now on the list hod been frightened owing t-j the typhoid ; but he wa* glad to »ay that the kfrt patient, one of their own nurs»s, was now on the road to recovery. She wou'd, however, need a l ug holiday when she became con-vak-scant.
The mat'er was held over until nrxfc meeting, when the probationers' list will ba revised.
A letter from Miss M. liven in >egard to appointment was held orer in 1 terms of the above.
Mifs L. Stothart wrote accepting an appointmeiit as nurse.
The Linda Ddiarimaut wrote tbat the Minister bad to the proposed exchange of section 1119, owned i>y the Board, for section 792, owned by Mr. F. W. Richmond, on condition that Mr. Richmond erect a fence along the front ge of the same and pay the '■iiilacce of £SO agreed upou by him, to ho spot in improving the ground, to the Board's general account for use in erecting the Old Men's Home.

Mrs. Hedges, Btratfo"d, wrote giving the Board three months' no ice to quit th» premi'63 used as a temporary hospital for Sira'fordca^e s . Tho matter was left to Messrs. Mackay and L'ardet to report upjn, Mrp. Andersen wrote forwarding £$ in part payment of the account owing hy h<r l.usband.
| Me srp. Mackay and Liardet gave long explanations of the case a< they had found it, and the latter moved, that the Board remind the Hon. HallJon' 8 of a pr. mi'sa ho made to Anderson in rrgard to the payment for his trip to Rotorua, and that tLe claim for local treatment be not pres ed, and that the £3 be refunded to Mrt ( Anderson. Mr. Oliver seconded.
