Wasqanuj, May 14; At the moraine sitting of the National Council of Women the following resolutions were pissed : (1) Tbat this Council urges tha Bight Hon. the Premier to introduce a Bill raising the age of protection of young girls to 21 years. (2) That tbe Council feels that it is urgently necessary that the Public Health, Hospital and Charitable Aid Acts bo amended so as to make provision for the es'ablibhmeot of special wards for the adminion of patients suffering vevereal diseases and voluntarily preventing themselves for treatment. (3) That the Council gratefully recognises the steps the Government has a'rexdy taken as to establishing wards for the temporary accommodation of patients suffering from delirium tremens and urges tbat similar provision be made in cases of lunacy. (•A) That the Council request the Premier again to introduce a Bill for tha repeal of the CD. Acts, and urges u[ i) him not to allow the present ses-fii-ia to expire without removing then frc in tbe Statute Book. At the afternoon sitting Mrs. WilJiinson gave an able address on " Toe Broadening of Woman's Outlook," and Mi.j. S. V. Beacher (Ghr'stch ireb) read a paper on (i Pood R forms," written by 3ii.ss L. M. South (Christehurcb). The evening s siioo was dcVot°d to " Revenue versus Liquor Traffic," introduced by Mrs. Atki&soa (Wellington).
