POLICE COURT.
Friday, 10' h May.- Bofore Mr, R. L. Stanford, S.M. Johh Mabsbaxl was charged with having on Bth May refused to have the Terminus Hetel at the request of the licensee. Mr. Richmond app ared for the defend mt, and S rgt. Stagpoole conducted the cass for for pilice. Richard Hadfiald, Hear see of the Terminus Hotel, gave evidei ce that he had told defendant to leave the premises, and he rtfu'ed. Constable Lien also gave evidence. Mr. Richmond submitted that there was ho proof that tho defendant was quarrelsome on this occasion, and he asked that a euitisn might I e given io this case, as that would be sufficient. The Bench inflie'ed a fine of 20s, and 7s costs. {
A second charge against Mat shall of being an idle and disorderly person wis then called, and after the S.M. had heard the evidence of several witcesses he dismissed the case, with a cau'ion to defendant.
