Toe Maori 3, generally speaking, are more cleanly in thiir babitf, And consequently more h> alt'.y. Most •f the enumerators are convinced that the visits of the native melicdl' officer, and stricter compliance in the sanitary laws under the M*ori Council Act, trill bring about a ttill f-irthir improvement, In most dittiicts the natives are more industrious than thty were, dt unkennels is less prevalent, and the death rate bss decreased. In Dearly every large district there is a "much greater number of young children in proportion to the adu't population than at the previous census.
