Bluff, May 7. Taluce, s.s., for Hobart, at daylight. The r.». Kanierl. Captain 1 H. Smith, left Onehnnga, f.r Waiter a, oa Monday the Sth, and reached Waitara roadstead on Tuesday. Owing to heavy weather she was too lata for the mid-day tide; hairing larg* Brindiii mill on hoard, Captain .Smith steamed to the Breakwater and landed US bags, a large portion of which was transhipped to the B.s. Rotoiti for southera ports, the Kanieri afterwards returned to Waitara, entering that pott the same night. The yalue of the port of hew Plymouth was shown in a marked manner during Monday and Tuesday. All over the colony, and particularly at Wellington and Port Chalmers, shipping was delayed by rough weather, while the Onion Company's TJpoln, Mapourika and Rotoiti, and the Northern Company's Ngapuhi and Kanieri were able to enter and leave New Piymonth without any delay whatever. Owing to an oversight the Northern SS. Company's Kanieri vvat stated in our last issue to have come from the south instead of the north. Kr. W. D. Webster is her agent In New Plymouth. Mr. Williams, purser of the Rotoiti, has been transferred to the Eoonva, trading for the Union 8.9. Company in the Tasmani&n trade. Tke next Home steamer with dairy produce will be the Maori, leaving Wellington oa May 9th. To avoid disappointment early application for space Is necessary. The closing day at the Freezing Works being Thursdav, the 2nd May, at 3 p.m
