SEAMEN'S QUARREL.

PES PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, May 4. A quarrel occurred in the forecastle of the barque Northern Chief last night, resulting in oae of the saamen, a Scandinavian, named Edtrard L«nd, being struck behind the right ear with a capstan bar and rendsred rnconfcious, remaining still in this state at the hospital. At the Police Court this morning Amel Brown was charged with the offence. Sub-Inspector Mitchell said the hospital authorities regarded the case as a ciitical one, and the -accused was remanded till Tuesday.
