The annual meeting of the Grand Masonic Lodge haw begun. The re-

port shows that, £l3O Ims been granted by the Benevolent Board. The balance of assets over liabilities is .£5462. A letter was read from W. Bro. the Right Hon. R. J. Seidon, who was to have presided, expressing regret that owing to pressing public business he was unable to be present

Amounts to credit of funds wfreGeneral .£894, benevolence £2202, widows and orphans £776, aged and indigent £242. A proposal to make the Boards of general purposes colonial, instead of local, was agreed to. The matter of invasion of territory by the G.L. of Scotland by opening a Lodge at Opunake was discussed, and the matter was ultimately left in the hands of the Board of General Purposes. W. Bro. Alexander S. Russell was installed M.W. Grand Master, and the following officers were invested:— D.G. Master, Bro. C. J. W. Griffiths; Sanior Grand Warden, V. W, Bro. H. G. Widdowson; Junior Grand Warden, W. Bro. D. A. Jolly. The following brethren were appointed Pro. G.M.s Auckland, Murdoch McL«an; Wellington, H. J. Williams; Canterbury, W. Giffkins; Otago, John M. The Grand Lodge session is concluded. A motion to rescind the decision that future meetings be held at Wellington was carried, and it was resolved to adhere to the present system cf holding a session at the four centres in rotation.
