TARANAKI RUGBY UNION.
The annual general meetiDg of the Taraaaki Rugby Union was held at. the County Hotel, Stratford, on Wednesday evening. (Sfcu ) I>.<siu9!l (Waimate), Butts (Kapon-;.), Betts (Okaiawa), Smart (Tukapa), Spurd o (Tnghwood), Clarke (Opuu-ike) uui Nu'tall (Eltham). On the motion of Mr. Buchanan, setoaded by Mr. Sput'dl*, the congratulations of the Union were tendered to Mr. R. B Tattoo, _ secretary of th<> Union, on his election to the mayoralty of Stratfoi d.

Gentlemen, —In placing before lyour delegates the annual repoit and balance shotit of the Taranaki Rugby Uiiion, your Committee have much pleasure in tendering th-ir congratulations to r.h Clubs upon the improved financinl posi t.ion of the Union. Tha Cham pionship was won by j the Haweri Club. The First Junior pramiershii was won by the Star Club for Northeri end and Okaiawa Club for Souther end, the final being won by Okaiawa The premiorship for the Second J unioi was won by. the Tukapa Club, Thi Rep. teim of tho Union ptayod tiv inter-provincial matches, in all o which, we regrsfc to say, they wera di foated.—Aw. 15ayly, president.
