Probably nothing wrll positively be known as to the reported massacre of mistiannies till tho Resident Magistrate, who has gone to the scene, repoits.

In reply to inquiries tha Secretary of the London Missionary Society, Sir John Douglas, to-day wired be had doubts about tho massacre, but the officer in charge of the district fully bdieved the resort.
