Everybody knows how strictly Mr. Djckrill Ins done his duty; thtit is always a matter of stern principle with hitti. And as to ability for tha position, he haß hid an timisuil number o!' public functions to attend during the past two years acd bas p.oved thai no Now Plymouth Mayor lias do .e batter. It is the general opinion that an unpractised, untried man would do no better, either in the Council, (>;• out of it, or could he if he would ?—or oven half so well.
