Auckland, April 18. The 'Frisco mail steamer Sonomi. arrived from 'Fiisco at 5.25 p.m.. She left 'Frisco on March 30th, and on April Ist the high prasure piston of the port engine broke, knocking out the head and top of the cylinder. She continued the rest of the trip with om» i engine, making about U knots on ttfe voy ga to Hodolulh. The engines were c mpaunded in Honolulu and averaged 15| until April 12th when the low pressure piston of tba compounded enj-ine cracked, The rest of the voyage was,completed with one engiue. The time from 'Frisco to Auckland was 17 days 10 hours, includiug stoppages.
