SPECIAL MIXTURES, oan be made at any time to suit farmers. Note—The "M" Manure gave the best results in proportion to dost out of 10 experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Experimental Farm at Momohaki in 1897 (see page 170, Fifth Report of Agricultural Department) : The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-99 show that the bsst result was obtained from a mixture of one-third utesmed bone duit and two-thirds basic slag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the beit remit, at a minimum cos*, was from a nocture of one-third Lawes' Superphosphate and two-thirds of the W.M E Co's "M ' Manure. The latter mixture contains the same components as the W.M £. Co. s No. 3 Mixture, the proportions Ming a little different. The former combination points o the fact, now ; generally reoognised, that the value of batio slag, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has been greatly under-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'s No. 4 Mixture oontains one-third of Thomas' Phosphate. A perusal of the report of Mr. Gillanders, the manager at Momohaki, embodying the results of the experiments referred to, which will be found in the Seventh Report of the Department, of Agriculture, wonld amply repay any farmer who finds a difficulty in selecting the most suitable manures •ran company recbivm i BTOOK FOR FREEZING upon owner's aocount at the following rates To include slaughtering, Freezing, Sn pping, Wrapper and Freight.
