PRESENTATION TO MR. JOHN MYNOTT.
A vert pleising presentation was made at the drill ball to Mr. John Mynott by Corporal Nixon on behnlf of the Guards's Bugle Band in recognition of his valuable assistance to the young buglers in enabling them to master their instruments and for other much appreeiated services to the band during the past year. In banding Mr. Mynott a silver-mounted and suitably inscribed ebmy walking stick, Corporal Nixon *oid he regretted (hat the value of the gifs was not much intrinsically, bnt&e hope.\ it would be received in token of the heartfelt appreciation by tbe band of Mr. Mymtt's services to them. Captain Taunton eohnrd tbe sentiment) expressed by Corporal Nixon, and ateo thanked Mr. Mynott far the services he had so willingly rendered. Mr. Mynott expressed greit gratification at the honour done to hi.m, and aMed that though he was not in the position of a public mm who could ob t)in notoriety by handsome gifts to patriotic and other funds, he was gla" to be of assistance ia any movement in whieh his sarvicrs could be of the slightest use. What he had done for the Bugle Bind was a labour of love, and ho should ever appreciate their kindly recognition of bis attempts to assist the voung players in making good use of their instruments.
