NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT. £4 PER CENT DEBENTURE LOAN ISSUE OF Under the autherity of " The Aid to Public Works end Land Settlement Act, 1900." MINIMUM PRICE OF ISSUE, £IOO PER CENT. THE Colonial Treanror invites Traders for £500,000 New Zealand Government 4 per cent Debentures, payable to Bearer, and oE the face value of £IOOO, £SOO, £2OO and £IOO respectively, as maybe desired. These Debentures are secured on the Public Revenues of the Coleny, and are repayable on the Ist April, 1904, at the Treasury, Welling) on, New Zealand, or (if the tenderer so requests in his tender) at the office of the Agent-General for New Zealand in London. Dividends represented by coupons attached to the debentures, will be payable on the Ist April and the Ist October in each year during the currency of the Loan, at the Cashiers Office, Treasnry, Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank cf New Zealand in New Zealand, or (if the debentures are issued repayable in London) at the office ef the Agent-General fer New Zealand in Lo»don.

At the option of the holder ef any debenture issued repayable in New Zealand, aid on application made in that behalf at the Treasury, Wellington, Mew Zealand, he may at any time during ita currency have it endorsed payable, beth as to principal and interest, at the office of the Agent-General for New Zealand, London, or at any specified branch of the Bank of Mew Zealand in Australia. Provided that in the former case the endorsement shall not be lets than three months and in the latter oate net leu than one month, before the due date of tha next ensuing payment of interest. The first interest coupon will be payable on the Ist October, 1901, and will be for a sum equal to six months' interest oa the nominal amount of the Debonture. The issue price will be at the rate ©f £IOO in money for every £IOO expressed in debentures (below which no tender will be accepted), payable as follows; — Deposit of 5 per cent, en application. First instalment of 4SpeTcent. onTuesI day, 7th May, 1901, Second instalment of 60 per cent, oa Tuesday, 4th Jnne, 1901. Payments may be made in fall at any time ea or after the 7th May, 1901, ana prior to the 4th June, 1901, at a discount at the rate of one peund ten shillings per centam per annum. Healed tenders, addressed to the Secretary to the Treasury, Government Buildings, Wellington, accompanied with the 6 per cent, deposit, will be received up to Noon of TUESDAY, 23rd April, 1901, when they will be opened in the presence of the Colonial Treasurer and the Controller and AuditorQeneral, and allotment will forthwith be made. If cheques are lodged with a tender they must be drawn upon a Baak in Wellington, and he marked by Bach Bank as " good " for fourteen days. Cheques issued by a Bank need not be so marked. Tenders may be for the who'e or any part of the Loan, and must state what amonnt of money will be given for every £IOO «f the Debentures tendered for. Tenders must be for evon hundreds of pounds sterling, and at prices which are multiples of sixpence. Tenders at different prices must be en separata forms. The nominal amount of Debentures tendered for must be written on the ontelde of the, Tender. In case of default in the payment ef amy instalment at its proper date, the deposit and instalment (if any) previously paid will be liable to forfeiture. If no allotment is made the deposit will be returned.

The first and second instalments may be paid at any branch ef the Bank of New Zealand either in the Colony of Australia, to the credit of the Pnbllc Acoouat, or at the Treasury. Wellington, not later than the several dates previously mentioned. Scrip Certificates will be issued, to be subsequently exchanged for the Debenture Bonds. Tenders must he on printed forms, which may be obtained at the Cashier's Offiee, Treasury, Wellington, or at the offices of the Bank of New Zealand at Sydnev, Mo 1 bourne, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin.
