m THIS EDITOR, Sib,—'The Hon. J. G. Ward, Minister for Railways, was reported te have exposed i egret that his orders to allow ell veterans to go free on thp, way (when the Imperii tvoops visited were hot complied with. Wilt he cow Bhow bis sincerity by issuing free passes to the old veterans who reside in this district, to enable them to attend the celebrations to be held in Wellington in June next, when their Rojal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York ariavo. I do uat think thuro can be a great number now living, and eg suoh an' event will never again happen in their lifetime, it would be bui a small recognition for their many good s»rv ces rendered to this colony many yeais back.
