THE FEDERAL CONTINGENT.
Captain Okey has received a circular from Colonel Newa'l the officer commanding the district, stating that the foilowing men ara required for the Federal contingent from the Wellington district, which includes Taranaki, Wanganui and Hawkes Biy :—8 permanent militia, 4 mounted infantry, 5 naval artillery, 4 infantry, 10 Highlanders, and 10 natives. The men must be six feet in height, and built in proportion. Captain Okey will be ghd to teceive the names of thqia desirous of goiqg who comply with the feregoing conditions. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.
