ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(FEB PREBS ASSOCIATION). Pahiatca, April 9. An aged man, an old resident, suicided yesterday afternoon. He cut hia throat with a razor. He was depressed in spirits. Soma time since he was examined by doctors as to insanity, but tbey disagreed. Napier, April 8. A man named W, Taylor, storeman in the Loan and Mercantile Agfccy Company's store at the Spit, has bee < missing 6ince Thursday last. Search was made, with the result that the body was found in tho water of the Iron Pot under the steam launeh Trussy. The body was considerably knocked about', but no information is yet to hand as to haw it came to be in the water. He leaves a wife and three children. April 9. At the inquest to-day on the body of W. R. Taylor, found in the Iron Pot yestetdiy, the jury returned a verdict that deceased met his death through falling over tbe wharf, mistaking it for Bridge-street, and were of opinion that the accident might be attributable to the haibour not being properly lighted. They recommend that a lamp be areoted at the north end of the bridge; and they pointed out the urgent necessity for a morgue at the Spit.
