BOWLING.
On Saturday two rinks from the Feeding Bowling Club tried conclusions with the local Club, thegaroe resulting in a decisive victory for the horee tram, the scores being Feilding 30, New Plymouth 62. Some of the best players, on such occasions as this, are often unable to get away, so that a visiting team is handicapped in not being able to put in its full strength. At the same tim<), Saturday baiug market day here, prevented some of our own men I from playing, who would, under other j circumstances, have done so. During the tour of our local men down the 'coast last year, the Feilding bowlers were successful in defeating their ppi ponents. The green on Saturday was in excellent condition, and gave every ! chanee for good play; the weather wes all that could ba desired,
For tho first half dozen beads the game was all in favour of the visitor?, the sixth head showing Feilding 14, New Plymouth 6. After thip, however, the local men, with defeat staring tbem in the face, were put on their mettle, the result being that they gradually drew away from the . opponents, Paul's rink beating Say well's by 6 points, and Rundle's defeating Sandarlaod's by 26.
