The office of Registrar of Births, Deaths, | and Marriages is now under the charge of J. C. Smith in Mr. 0. T. Mills' buildings. Mr. Newton King reports the sale of Mr, H. Fraser's excellent dairy farm of 302 acres at Toko to Mr. A. Park Home, of Auckland, at a satisfactory figure. The Ngnire school children intend, we learn from Mr. Harris Ford, visiting New Plymouth on Friday. The annual general meeting of the Tukapa Football Olub takes place this evening, in the Guards' Olub room, at 7.30 o'clock. We understand that Messrs. Ooncett and Maxwell will interview the Minister of Bailways in Wellington next Saturday. The Rev. Wills, of Ormondville, who has done suob good work in the cause of Prohibition with his pen and on the platform, is on a short visit to New Plymouth. We regret to say the rev. gentleman is in search of health. Mr. Oollis, Secretary of the Taranaki Scenery Preservation Seciety, has received a Utter from the Lands Department, acknowledging receipt of a lettsr from the Society coavaying a resolution asking that the bush on both banks of the Mokaa River should be reserved for a distance of half-a-mile from the river bank and stating that enquiries are being made as to the " practicability " of the suggestion aad that a further oommunioatisn will be sent later on.
