Watkin's dairy and ] pedigree Jersey stock, etc., when there was ] a large attendance The dairy cows were a really excellent lot, most of them having a ] varying amount of Jersey blood, and the 1 greater number being young and early spring i calvers and were sold entirely without ro- ; serve. Bidding was spirited from the start ( ■ and very satisfactory prices were realised ; £lO was the top price and !ihe whole herd of 44 cows averaged £6 15s per head, a result which, considering the time of the year, must ; i be considered as very satisfactory. The pedigree Jerseys were a very choice lot but there were few beyers for these and most of these were passed ia. VICKBRS & STEVENS' AUCTION REPORT. i Messrs Viokers & Stevens report a fa'r ■ muster of stock in the Inglewood Yards on Wednesday. Owing to the bad weather the attendance was not large and competition 1 was not keen, many lots going home. At Waitara Road, on Wednesday, March a 6th, on account of Mr. Hobson, a very wet day prevented a large attendance, but bidding was good. Implements and sundries fetehed fair prices. Twenty-two cows averaged L 3 12s; heifers, L2 14s to L 3 10s ; calves, 15s 6d to L2; ball, LI 12s 6d ; trap horse, Ll2. At a clearing sale on account of Mr. A, J. Hintz, of Uronui, the stock realised first-rate prices.
