THE VICTORIA COLLEGE SITE.
[PUB PHESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, March, 15, Mr. Charles Pharazyn has communicated with tho Oity Council offering to increase his donation to toe Victoria College to £2OOO if tb* question of lit* is dealt with to his satisfaction. Ho adds that a friend of his is willing to eouti ibnt* £ 1000. Hs suggests the, sale of the Kelbnrne Park Reserve as a site for the college, and the purchase of a section of land near tho Botanical Gardens for Kolbnrae Park. The Mayor, speaking at the Oity Council, said they were much indebted for the oiler, but he tbongbt the question of the University was one purely for tho Government to undertake. Mr. Pbarazyn's oiler would be better if he made it conditional on tho Government finding a site. Tho speaker was opposed to* selling Edburne Park. Ultimately the matter was referred to the ReeerrM Committee.
