She saw the lady next afternoon standing at the foot of tho ladder leading to the forecastle, Frederick Liardet, saloon steward on the Talune, identified the lady in Court as the pmsenger who recently travelled in his vessel. On February 19th he saw her between Nos. 1 and 2 hatches about 7.30 p.a. She askod him if that was the way to the forecabin and he replied in the affirmative, and handed her over the steambox. He paw her go to the forecabin, but did not notice ber again till sfeout 8.15, when be Faw ber entering the starboard alley-way going aft. The sima lady, when the ship reached Sydoey wharf, asked him if they had the dead min ashore. The inquest was adjourned till Friday. (Received 13, 1".59 p.m.) Sydney, March 13. Jessie Fairless deposed that when the lady in Court first came to her cabin she ssid ta witrif i-' mother, " Are yo« the lady who has » daughter that lam looking for?" Bur mother replied, " No ; I do rot know you."
