TABANAKI TEACHERS INSTITUTE.
The Taranakx Branch of the Teachers' Institute held their asoal monthly meeting on Saturday last in the Boardroom. Between twenty and thirty teachers were present, and a largo amount of routine business was transacted. A resolution was carried thanking the Education Board for iovitirg the teachers to consult with them re the incr ases to teacher's salaries, and asking that all reasonable efforts should lie mada to secure a uniform scale of i.taflfe and s-ihrifla throughout the colony, 1•; was also decided to urge | the Board to eocure Taraaaki's share of the grant b(fore the oxpiratiovi of tho financial year. Tiio tending of Mr. Dempeoy's papor on composition was d. fei-rer) until the next meeting, which rakes place on the 30' h March, when I it will take precedence of all other business.
