[FEB PBEB3 ASSOCIATION.] Receired 6,10 36 p.m. Beisbanb, March 6. The transport Templemore, with the Fifth Contingent and 450 horses, sailed for the Cape this morning. The Governor went aboard and addressed a farewell to the troops. Owing te the early hoar there was but little demonstration. Perth, March 6. Sir J. Forrest, referring te the Federal Defence Act eaid he would put the defences on a solid footing. Citizen soldiers would form the basis of the forces. Any permanent army would be M small as consistently possible. (Received 6,10.39 p.m.) Melbourne, Match 6. It is expected about elevsa thousand Australasian troops and five thousand cadets will participate in the Melbourne Federal celebrations. Sydney, March 6. The Aorangis' passengers for New Zealand are:—Misa Bank?, Masais. Torrance, Caniel, Callaghan, and Sagdahritn.
