Advance was out early and cantered gaily on the tan, looking tbe better for Saturday's race. San Fran, assisted by Iroa Hoop, went 1| miles on the sand in 3min 14 jsec. There was little betting on tbe Australian Cup on Saturday night. 2000 to 140 was accepted about Sin Fran. Finland is nominally favourite at 7 to 2, Advance 5 to 1, Makter 10 to 1. Dreamland was also favoured, and is likely to see a start

In his record gallop on the tan this morning Advance was accompanied by Boreas, who shaped well. For tbe Australian Cup Advance was backed for 1200 at 7 to 2, and is hardening to 100 to 35 and 100 to 40; 1000 to 10 Malster. Finland is quoted at 100 to 10.
