(Received 1, 9.1 a.m.) London, February 28. In an engagement on Saturday with De Wet, two commandants and 209 of De Wet's followers were captured. A force of New Zralandere at Zeerust shelled the Boers southwards of the town and compelled then to remove their laagers, i'hey also captured some cattle. Mr. Kruger has been informed that his grandson, Piet Kruger, and hia son-in-law, Commandant Malon, both serving with General De la Rey'a commands, were recently killed in an engagement in the Rustenburg district. The Boers is the Pietsrsburg district, north of Pretoria, are runniug trains southward as far as Warm Bitht, watching an opportunity to destroy the Piendar's River bridge. in Saturday's engagement with De Wet a fi.fi ean-pounder was captured by Onptain W. 0. The conflicting statements regarding General Botha's surrender are the outcome of his wife's return to Pretoria after urging her husband to yield.
