Forty-four other trams competed, including New Plymouth, 'who o time was 45 l-ssoes.

Bragginsand C. Jenkins (Masterton), 25sec, 3. The New Plymnuth mrn j competed, their tinia being 31secs, Manual Engine Competition, for five men—Christehuich City, 42 2-ssec, 1 ; Gore (2sec), 43sec, 2; Hawora (4s?c), 45 2-ssec, 3. Eleven other teaias took part.

Hawera, 36 2-ss«cs., 1 ; Nsw Plymouth (2secs. penalty), 38 l-53ecs., 2; CaverMbsm, 38 2 ssecs., 3. Tho Hcse and Hydrant Competition, for five men, is not yet finished. S>) far, Spit is leading with 36 l-ssecs., Hastings next with 37 l-ssecs.
The * larm and Disabled Hose C >mpetion, for five men, is also unfinished. The Greymputh team is leading with 57 2-ssec.
