There was a necessity for a great revival of spiritual life in their Churches—mote labourers were wanted, ministers, and male and 'V.nale lay agents. The ignorance, debauchery, and hideous rondition of it ljrgo portion of tho Maoris w«s a standing raproaeh to Christian people.
