This is a spavk'ing sole, and should prova one of the gem 3 of the' avcoiii". Miss Tansley, who is a very great favourite, will sirg " Thou art my child" and other numbers of cqu-1 worth. With Miss Oonnell sho wil also contiibuta the " Lullaby " dint by Tito Mattei, an entrancing composit : on. Those who have heard Miss Tansley's Sno mezzo voici have nothing tut complimentary things to say about it. Mr. Buckeridge, of Napier, will contribute several songs. This gentlewan has a rich, sonorous voice, and sings with the tiue expression of an artist. He was a pet pupil of Santley, the eminent baritone, and later studied at Milan. Miss Winnie Connoll is a youn" violinist who has alraady e irned flattering notice. She plays with much feeling, and htr technique is surprisingly good. To-night she will give several solos. An o chestra under the direction of Pr Jo sir Iligham will play selecticn-s, anung thtir. bi,ing the sprightly " Hungarian Gipsy Dance." Patrons can re'y on an interesting evening's amusement. After the cmcert here, MissOorinell and the contort eompmy proceed *o Wanganui. At Hawera on Monday »vsni'»g th»re wag a cowded and enthusiastic audience. Never seen such flattering recognition of a local artiste Encores and floral tributes wote in abundance, and even, as is fondly hoped, should M iss Counoll attain to a leading position a* a sinper, the farewell she received in Hawera should ever live in her memory. Tho young lady was in splendid voice, and thoroughly deserved the fht'ering reception she was accorded.
