Nairnshire, s.s., from Lyttelton, at 7.30 a.m. Sydney, February 24 The tioopsbip Britannic w»e signalled off Wil-on's Promontory at 7 «'clock this morning. SAILED: Bydkky. February 24. Talnne, s.s., far Wellington, yesterday, with English mail. The Gaitloch arrived at the Breakwater with a car,;o of sheep on Saturday, from Mannkau, returning again the same evening. The Oreti arrived at the Breakwater at 4 a.m. on Monday morning from Westport, she , sailed agaiD the same evening, after dischargin;: a cargo 0 f coal. Agents of steamers would greatly oblige by notifying us of the arrival and departure of steamers at tbe Breakwater. The scene at thn Breakwater on Saturday was very grand at high water, the mole was completely submerged. Its value was shown however in the fact that the Gairloch was able to lay at the wbarf and discharge in safety. The s.s. Banffshire will be the next boat to load dairy produce, leaving Wellington on the 28th Febrnary. The closing day at the Moturoa Freezing Works will be Thursday, the 21st February, 1901, at 3 o'clock p.m.
