A MUSICAL EVENT.
On Wednesday evening next, in the Thex're Royal, Miss Kate Cannell, assisted by a strong company, will give a concert which should prove most attractive. All the performers are above the average, and the programme arranged is a high-class one. Miss Cormell comes to us with a reputation which we have reason to believe will be endorsed by judges of music in New Plymouth, After a course of study under soan of tho best toachors of singing in the colony, she easily carried off the gold medal of the- Boyal Academy, winning from the examiner great praise. Since, tlion/she lias bV, oomo an associate of Trinity Colloge, London, and has been admitted by critics $9 be one of the best singers who have graced the cqlonial concert stage. All join in predicting for her a great future. Miss H. Lorraine Tansley is sure to for she has, like Miss Oonnell, secured the unanimous approval "of the many audiences whom sho has treated to music, grave,, gay and grand. " A fine contralto' is the verdict of press and public regarding Miss Tansley's voice.
