He missed his hold and fell, the hind wheel of the engine aud the re»l going over his stomach and mangling him frightfully. Ho was placed in a cab but expired before re telling the hospital. Deceased was 35 years of age and leaves a wife and C young children. Hewasoneof the smartest men of the biiga.de, being of ten years standing. At the inquest ' the verd'efc was " accidental dentli " ; I a rider was added suggesting that j no'iico'i shou'd be posted at stations | warning firemen not to gei on engines jin motion.
