After staying about an hour they left for Wanganui. A public reception at P*lmeraton Noi+b akes place on the return of the troops, to-monow.
WANOANar, February 11. Wangmui gave the Imperial troopa a spl.udid lvception. The function took place on the racccourso which waa oiMinmed by thousands of enthusiastic "ight-eers. The troops detrained at the crossing near the course and inarcht d straight over. The ceremony ui fiont of the grandstand was very impressive. Addresses were delivered by tha Mayor, Mr. Hatrick, the Hen. J. G. Ward, and Major Topia, an old! Maori chief. The visitors were entert»ired at afternoon tea, and after mingling wi h tho crowd fall in and marched ta tha Drill Hall, where they were dismissed and taken to various plaeos arranged for billetißg.
