Lord Curzon's proposals for ati Indian cational memorial to the Queen, to be ereated at Calcutta, havu bet>n immediately and warmly supported.
The Slabavajih of Kashmir contributed fifteen lakhs cf rupees to the fund; the Maharajah of Jeypoi'o five lakhs; the Makaivijahs of Gwalior and Mysore, four lakhs e ch: the Bengal Jnte Mil'n, 90,000 rupees; the Nawah of Decc.i, 50,000; the Maharajah of Kazimbazav, '25,000; Coral Companies, 14,000; Loid Curzon, 10,000. The Maharajah of Jeyporo also contributed an extra four lakhs to,the Indi<n famire fund.
Remarkable loyal gatherings are being held throughout India. [Alakh of rupees amounts to 100,000 and it takes 15 rupeoa to inr'ko XI The total of 1 f the above suVscnp ions amounts to close on £200,000].
