Thn visible amount of wheat on hand at 28th February, 1900, was stated at 12,514,350 bushels, and of this the following quantities have been consumed: —Seed tor 206,465 acres at 2 bushel* per acre, 412,930 bushels; consumption of 6 bus I) his per heid of population for eight months, 3,216,140 bushels; wheat and flosr ex purred to 30th October, 1900, 2,191,752 bushels; total oea--umptioa, 5,820,822 bushels, leaving on hand at 30t.1i October, 6,693,528 bushels, but the amount returned as en hand at that date was 4,506,412 bushela leaving a deficiency of 2,187,11 ft bushels.
