ARIUVKD AT IN VEROARUILL. PISH PIIESB ASSOCIATION. Inveucarqill, Fobruary 5. The Imperial troops arrived here at nooo to-day after a most tempestuous passage from Melbourne. They came to town and after an address of welcome from tbe AotingPremier fell iu and inarched to the Queen's Park where they were enter* tained at luncheon.

After being given a little time to mix with the people they returned to the station and left lor tho north at 3.30.

They were marched to tbe Show Ground where they were entertained at luncheon, being »#t by the Mayor and Mr. MeNab, M.H.E. The troops were enthusiastically cheered at Clinton where a fir* minutes stay was made. A. big crowd gave them an enthusiastic reception at B&lclutha wher* ft 15 minutes stay was made. An equally cordial reception Wit given by a larger crowd at Milton. A stay ot an hour was mad?. Here a supper of a high order mi prepared for the men in St. Gesrge's Hall, while tbe offieeiß were entertained at Ooombi' Hotel, the Mayer welcoming them. Coloßel Wyndham responded. At f.very station on the whole line of route crowds collected and cheered thfl train as it passed. Tbe first train reached Dunedin at* 110.45, havirg made the run in iw | hours.
