The King's accession was proclaitiKd on Saturday in many towns of * ( : Kingdom, the Colonial and ludi i capitals, and in the chief centres. The Duke of Connaught handed t!>o Kaiser a Field Marshal's sword.
King Edward conferred upon th.> Kaiser the Order of the Garter in diamonds, and he also confers the Garter on the German Crown Prince. I
King Edward and the Duke of Connaught visited the Kaiser aboard the Hohenzolern on (Sunday in honour of his birthdty.
