A fire broko out tarly this moviiin; at tho Manse-street portion of Wain' llotol, two floors of which wore com plotaly gutted. The origin is direct); traceable to disregard by tho rook o the licensee's ordors to extinguish th light in his bedroom. Tho fire wn first neticed shortly after midnight and two employees who slept in thi part of the building returned to be thinking it extinguished. It brok out again about 5 o'clock. The brigad earned much praise for tho manuc they fought and got under wha promised to be a serious fire, as th block is 0110 of tho most valuable i Duncdin. Insurances in the ltoyt Exchange for £.2250 are reinsure with various offices.
