FBOM Ist January, 1901, the postage on letters and letter cards for delivery within the colony, or for United Kingdom, Canada, India, Oape Colony, and poetically all other places in British Empire, except Australia, be for each half ounce or fraction thereof one penny. Foreign countries rate will remain at 2£d -as at present, and for Australia 2nd, until further advised. Postage on parcels for United Kingdom jpHy -from same date, be as follows :—For~ parcels not over three ponnds, Is; not over asren pounds 2s; net over eleven pounds, 3s.
AUSTRALIAN POSTAGE. The Postage on letters to Australia will remain twopence (2d). Letters to Australia prepaid one penny will be surcharged. EXPRESS DELIVERY AND SPECIAL MESSENGER SERVICE. BxpBBBS delivery and special messenger ■ervicea will be established at New Plymonth Post and Telegraph Offices a3 from the Ist January:—The express delivery will cover letters and parcels not exceeding 31b. in weigbt, for which an extra fee of 6d has qeen paid. The delivery is to be effected by telegraph messengers. The special messenger service means placing a messenger at tbo disposal of any Telephone Exchange subscriber on request being made, and a fee of 6d on the first mile, and 3d each additional mile up to two miles, or a time k payment being made. COMMERCIAL PAPERB AND NEWS- I PAPERS. is drawn to the fact that rates except for letters and letternot baen reduced. Commercial etc., require the as Postmaster.
