ARRIVAL OF THE TUTANEKAI.
RETURN OF THK COMMONWEALTH CONTINGENT. ADDRBBSED BY THE AOTINGPRKMIER. PKlt PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, January 14. The Government steamer Tutanekai arrived this afternoon from Sydney with the Contingent of New Zealand Volunteers who had been attending the Commonwealth Celebrations. The vessel berthed at J ervois Quay aboat six e'cloek and the men on landing were met by the members of the Sixth Contingent whe formed a guard of honour. There were a considerable number of people present and the troops matched to the Basin Reserve where they were addressed by tho Acting-Premier the Hon. J. G. Ward. PRESENTATION TO COMMANDER OF THK TUTANBKAI. Later. On arrival of the Tutanekai this afternoon with the Federal contingent on board, Major Hawkins, on behalf of the officers and men of the contingent and the Pipe Band, presented Commander Post with an illuminated address, as a mark of their appreciation of the courtesy and consideration shown them doring the trip, and the high discipline ef the ship's company, The address was signed by the officers on behalf of the contingent.
