Toon Ist January, 1901, the postage on letter* and letter cards for delivery within the colony, or for United Kingdom, Canada, India, Cape Colony, and practically all other places in British Empire, except Australia, will be for each half ounce or fraction thereof one penny. Foreign countries rate will remain at Z|d as at present, and for Australia 2nd, until farther advised. Postage on parcels for United Kingdom will, from same date, be as follows:—For parcels not over three pounds, Is; not over seven pounds fc; not over eleven pounds, Bs. AUSTRALIAN POSTAGE. Tmn Postage on letters to Australia will remain twopence (2d). Letters to Australia prepaid one penny will be surcharged. EXPRESS DELIVERY AND SPECIAL MESSENGER BEHVICE. Sxpbgbs delivery and special messenger services will be established at New Plymouth Post and Telegraph Offices as from Un Ist January:—-The express delivery will cover letters and parcels not exceeding 31b. is weighs, for which an extra fee of 6d has qeenpaid. The delivery is to be effected by telegraph messengers. The special messenger service means placing a messenger at the disposal of any Telephone Exchange sabscziber on request being made, and a fee of 6d on the first mile, and 3d each additional znilenp to two miles, or a time payment being made.
