SPECIAL MIXTURES can be (made] at xay time to suit farmers. Note—The " M " Manaro gave the beat results in proportion to cost out of IB experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Kxpomnental Farm at Momohaki in 1897 doe page. 170, Fifth Report of Agricultural Dipartmont) The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-99 show that the bsst result was obtained from a mixture of one-third steamed bone duit and two-third* baslo slag (Thomas' Phosphato), whilst the best remit, at a minimum cost, was from a anxture of one-third Lawes' Superphosphate and two-thirds o[ the W.M E Co's "M ' Manure. The latter mixture contains the same components as the W.M.iS. Co. s No. 3 Mixture, tho proportions oeing a little different. The farmer combination points o the faot, now generally recognised, that the value of batia slag, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has been greatly under-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'a Mo. 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thomas' Phosphate. A perusal of the report of Mr. fiillaiiderSj the manager at Momohaki, embodying the results of the experiments referred to, which will be found in the Seventh Report of the Department of Agriculburo, wonld amply repay any farmer who finds a difficulty v in selecting the most suitable manures.
