CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED POISONING.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) IjivuttCAßdiLL, December 44, Charles Arnott was again before the Police Court to-.day. on a charge of po,is,o,mug Ohaij, Milne and his two mates. Corroborative evidence was givsn. Dr. Rogers, who attended them, said tho symptoms u-ero those of strychnine poisoning, Professor Black depojotl that iu the sugar he found from decimal 54 grains lo decimal 63 grains of strychnine. He found strychnine in the stomaoh of 'the dog. Found arsenic on the butter, but mostly at one spot. From half to two grains of strychnine was fatal The sugar spoon used by! the men would lift about an ounce with ] easo. Tho Professor got six articles of i clothing, and in the pockots of three j found stiychniuo. The test w.n a sensitive one. and, if a person handled strychnine, witness would expect to, find the drug in the, pockets into which he put his bands. A vest pocket contained most strychnine, and the right hand pocket of one of the ooats. Most of all in the coat pockets and olothing was afterwards identified by Detective CnmpMl is having 'bion Arnott's, and iinii'l'..l to witnos.< by him.
