AN INTERESTING CONTEST.
Mb. Charles Lei-i-eu, of LDpperton, has challenged Mr. Levi Sartcn to run him 100 yards, conceding 20 yards start. Mr. E. W. Wheatly, of Pine Tree F-rni, Lepperton, has also thrown out a challenge for a race, to be run 2 minutes after tho first race, conceding Mr. Sarten 30 yards in 100. The contest, which takes place to day at Mrs. McTaggait's giouuds, at Lepl> rton, will he very interesting, as Mr. S.'irteu holds an unbeaten record, having twice beaten Mr. Lepper off' the 20 yards mark, and has also beaten Mr. (J. id. H. Clark, of Lepperton, off the 30 yards s'art mark, and the finishes in each instance were most exciting Mr. Sa-rten says he will not fail to toe the mark, and is also confident of winning.
