Newton Kin 9 reports: At the Haymarket on Saturday a fair number of pigs were penned, aad all sold at satisfactory prices, blips made 6s 6d to 9s 6d; small stores, 10s to 13s; medium stores, LI; several horses sold at from L2 to L 8; } trap and harness, Lid; cow, L 4 16s.
At the mart fowls made lid to Is 9d; ducks, la 2d to 23; potatoes, 3> 8d par sack; new potatoes, ljd to ljd per lb.; bacon, id toßd. A consignment of boots and shoes sold at from 2s to Bs. Furniture aad sundries made low prices. Fruit. —Prices realised daring the week were as follows:—Apricots, 7s 6d; plums, 7s i 6d; lemons, 5s 6d to 9s; red currants, Id to i%&; oranges, lis 6d; pines, 5s to lis 6d; peas, lid to Is per peck. On Wednesday I held a clearing sale of furniture on the Jfrankley Bead, on account of Mr. J. Veale. I'here was a good attendance, and fair prices were realised for most articles, although several were sacrificed at low figures. Cattle, —At Stratford, on Tuesday, cattle came forward far in excess of numoers advertised, the yards beieg orowded with mostly young cattle, a large proportion being 15to 18-months heifers; bidding for these was not so brisk, and iu most cases fell short of venders reserves. All sheers were well competed for, and sold at ruling rates. Store cows also showed little alteration. Weauers made 8s 6dto 27s 6d; calves to yearling i, 40s to 555; 12 to 15-manths steers, L2 17s to L 3 ss; 18.montbs steers, L 3 9s to L 3 lis tid; 18-mo itbs to 2>year steers, L 3 17s 6d; 3to 3£ year forward bullocks, t6 as; 15 to 18-months heifers, L2 15s 6i to L 3 2s 6d; spongers, L 4to LI 15s; store cows, L 3 5s tj L3lss; fresh cows. My opening sale at Awakino on Thursday was an unqualified success. There was a very large attendance, buyers being present from Opunake, fihima, Stratford, Waikato, aud intervening districts. The yards were crowded with aoout 1000 head of cattle, all in splendid condition, a grand line of steers and heifers from Mr. W. Kelly being especially admired. A fine line of bullocks irom Messrs. tieorgi and Sing, and a large draft of 1 to 2-year beifers from Messrs. Elliot and Bayly also sold well, frices were as follows:—U to 15-moaths heifers, L2 14s to hi ; 2£-year lwifers from Mr. Kelly, L 4; 1 to 2-year heifers, from Messrs, Elliot aud Bayly, L 3 8s; 12 to 16-monttjs steers, L 3 to L 3 8s; 2 to 2£-year steers, from Mr, Kelly, IL4 19s; 2| to 3-year bullocks, L 5 14s; 8J to bullocks, Lo 17s 6d to L 7 10s; store I cows, L 3 12s 6d to L 4.
VIOKERS & STEVENS' AUCTION RBPORT. Messrs. Viokbbs & Stbvbks report a good muster at their stock sale on Wednesday. Competition was good and almost ever; liue i changed hands. Calves made LI to LI 12s; yearlings to 15-months, L 3 Is to L 3 ss; do heifers, L2 8s to L2 15s; empty heifers, L 3 to L 3 10s; store cows,L3 15s to L 4 Is; fat cows, L4los to L4lss; springers, L 3 15s to L4l7s6d; bulls, LI ta L 5. They also held a clearing sale on account of Mr. Andrew Neilson on the farm. There was a large attendance and brisk bidding for everything. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Wkllington, December 7. At to-day's wool sale. 1209 bales were offered, of which 769 were seld. As anticipated, there was a marked fall in prices as compared with last December. The fall was in some instances as much as fid ou halfbreeds, Merino and super cross-breds, and 2d to Sd on medium and coarse wools. The following prices ruled:—Half-bred, 6d to 6|d; merino, 5Jd to 6d; super cross-bred, 6d to 6£d; medium do. and Romneya, 6d to 5Jd; coarse do. and Lincoln, 4-id to s£d; log-stained and inferior, 3d to 4d; pieces and bellies, 3d to 4d; locks, Id to 2d.

Bookljjid and Sons' Report: Horses.—On Friday, at the Haymarket, there was fair competition, and a large number changed hands. No heavy draughts were offered, bat many active medium draughts sold at late advance on prices; light harness and riding horses were in much better.demand than for some time past, and, with a few exceptions, all offered sold. We quote: Medium, draughts from LIS to L2B 10s; unbroken 'bus classes, LlO to Ll7 ; unbroken medium er heavy spring cart sorts, L2l to L2B; buggy horses and hacks, L 7 to L 10; ditto, of good class, Ll4 to L2l, At Waiuka, on Saturday, there was the largest muter of stock we have offered for the last It months and everything sold at good values. Three to 4-year steers brought fromL6 toL7lls; 8 to 3-years, LI to L 5 15s; yearlings, L2 toL2lss; strong calves, ILI to LI 10s; dairy cows, Li to L 5 5s each.

Fat cattle were pinned in average numbers. Well fatted steers and heifers were from LI to LI 2s; aged cows, Ids to ISs per cwt; steers, L 7 7s 6d toLIO Ss 6d; cows, L4toL9 each. Sheep and lambs seld at fair values, store wethers bringing front 10s 6d to , 16s 6d; ewes, 9s6dtol6i; lambs, 10s toil 4s; for well-fatted, lighter sorts, 7s to 9s each. Pigs were yarded in larger numbers than for some time past, but there is not very strong demand for them yet, porkers are bringing from 18s to LI ss; forward stores, 9s to lis; heavy up to L 3 Is.
